I have loved Fiber Arts for most of my working life; my BFA Thesis collection consisted of fiber art soft wall sculptures. My current fascination is soft sculpture in the form of needle felting. Needle felting is a old craft, using a barbed needle to pull and push strands of wool roving, agitating the fibers into locking. Thousands of needle pokes makes wool roving into a durable, dense sculpt.
When I have time, I liked to create complicated sculpts, pushing into mixed media by using stones, cosclay, and other elements to finish the pieces. I also love making smaller, cuter little “felties” of lots and lots of different animals, plants, and foods! Usually there are a few available in my Store, but look for announcements on my Instagram (@xtheindigofox) for when new felties, hoops, stickers, and prints will drop!
